MOSCOW, Idaho—Kansas State provost Duane Nellis is the second finalist to withdraw his name from the search for the next University of Idaho president.
Nellis, a finalist for the presidency who visited the Moscow campus last month, said he was backing out on Thursday.
State Board of Education spokesman Mark Browning says the president of Cal State Stanislaus, Ham Shirvani, withdrew his name in mid-February.
This leaves three of the five finalists for the top job at the state’s oldest public university.
The remaining candidates include David Dooley, provost at Montana State University; Larry Penley, former president of Colorado State University and Don Burnett, dean of the University of Idaho Law School.
