PUEBLO — A handgun believed to be the one that sexual-assault suspect David Leroy Wiggs reportedly brandished at Pueblo police was retrieved Thursday afternoon from Fountain Creek. Detective Gerald P. LeRay Jr. shot and killed Wiggs.
Police said a loaded 9mm handgun was found almost directly below the point on the bridge where Wiggs died Wednesday.
Wiggs, 54, of Florence, was wanted on suspicion of sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
