LINCOLN, Neb.—Zach Bergan scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half and finished with four 3-pointers Friday, leading unbeaten and top-seeded Chadron to a 58-45 win over Bennington in the Class C1 semifinals at the boys state tournament.
Elliott Eliason, the Cardinals’ 6-foot-11 junior center, added 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Chadron (26-0) will play Hastings St. Cecilia (23-1) in Saturday’s final.
Dexter Higgins and Denver Klaus scored 12 points apiece for Bennington (22-2), the C1 runner-up last year.
