DENVER—Colorado state Rep. Anne McGihon is giving up her seat to take a job with a national law firm.
McGihon, a Democrat, announced her resignation on Monday. Her final day will be March 27.
McGihon represents parts of Denver, Englewood and Cherry Hills Village. She’s been involved in health care issues and chaired the committee that reviewed the state’s new oil and gas rules.
McGihon will work for the law firm of Akerman Senterfitt in its offices in Denver and Washington, D.C. The firm said McGihon is uniquely qualified to participate in the upcoming debates about health care in Washington.
A vacancy committee will pick someone to fill McGihon’s seat in the state House until the next election.
