Flobots singer-viola player Mackenzie Roberts is more than a pretty face. Photos and text by Nathan Rist.
I had the fortune of seeing the ‘ own Jonny 5 and Mackenzie Roberts perform as guests during Matisyahu’s show at the Fox several months back, and I had a good feeling about this show on Sunday at the on the CU-Boulder campus. I was not disappointed. The Flobots’ music is politically driven, but they never whine about it.
The Flobots, with Jonny 5 and Brer Rabbit spouting their lines of perfectly executed lyrics, make for a potent package. And viola player Mackenzie Roberts, who is as beautiful as she is talented, lends the hip-hop band a sense of beauty and refinement.
Here is Nathan Rist’s photo essay from the band’s performance.
