A 25-year-old man accused of kidnapping and sexual assault was found dead Thursday in the Garfield County Detention Facility, an apparent suicide, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said today.
The inmate was identified as Antonio Delgadillo, who was accused of kidnapping a minor and then forcibly fondling the child.
Tanny McGinnis, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department, said at the time of the incident, Delgadillo was not under any suicide or behavioral watch.
She said Delgadillo killed himself by hanging.
