BOULDER, Colo.—An 8-year-old girl from Scribner, Neb., has been transported to a Colorado hospital after a skiing accident at the Eldora Mountain Resort, about 20 miles west of Boulder.

Boulder County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Linden says the girl was skiing with family members at about 9:45 a.m. MDT Friday when she lost control, went off a trail and struck some trees. Linden says she apparently suffered trauma to her shoulder, pelvis and legs, as well as possible internal injuries.

The girl, who was wearing a helmet, was airlifted to The Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colo.

Her name and condition have not been released.
