AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police say the chief information officer for Jefferson County Public Schools has been arrested on suspicion of Internet luring and attempted sexual assault on a child following an undercover sting operation.
Police say 49-year-old Donald Jenkins was arrested Thursday night where he had arranged to meet a 14-year-old boy. Detective Shannon Lucy says the boy was actually an undercover detective who’d been exchanging explicit e-mails with Jenkins.
Jenkins has been released on $50,000 bond.
School administrators say Jenkins didn’t interact with children in his job and has been asked to resign.
