Getting your player ready...

The tacky rubber outsole and skate-culture chic of Teva’s new Gnar watershoe (MSRP: $80) will take you from the river to the streets in no-slip style.

Built with Teva’s time-tested SSR rubber, the Gnar is designed to grip on slick stones like a rock-climbing shoe for the river. A closed-cell EVA tongue and collar foam don’t absorb water, and mesh drainage panels help squeeze out residual boot juice after you step out of the soup. The thick heels may be a bit bulky to cram into a kayak. In a raft or on the portage, however, the 1-pound, 1-ounce, shoes should pull their weight, and then some.
