Local artists combed their personal professional libraries for books on technique, art history, display, marketing, etc. Act quickly: The art book store will be open only through the end of this week. Sales raise money for the center’s young adult intern and scholarship program.

Twice a week, $3 ($4.75 for non-members) buys nearly two hours of kayak practice time in the Durango recreation center’s pool. Up to 20 boats at a time are allowed in the pool. Passes are sold on a first- come, first-served basis.
