OMAHA, Neb.—An Omaha man who once played for the Nebraska and the Omaha Beef football teams is facing allegations he fondled a 12-year-old girl.
A police report and court document say 33-year-old Demond Finister has been charged with two counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child.
He was a wingback and punt returner for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, lettering in 1997. He later played at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and on the Omaha Beef professional indoor football team.
Finister remained in the Douglas County Correctional Center on Saturday. He must post 10 percent of $50,000 bail to be released.
