The union representing Denver sheriff’s deputies has failed to convince a judge to block the firing of 11 deputies by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.
Denver District Court Judge Robert McGahey on Tuesday rejected the union’s request for a preliminary injunction that would halt the firing of the deputies.
The mayor terminated the deputies from their positions in March after the union rejected his request that it ask the membership to accept a 2 percent reduction in the negotiated contract this year.
