DURANGO — Coloradans in Congress are making another attempt to get Denver television programming to cable and satellite subscribers in the southwest corner of the state.

Residents of Montezuma and La Plata counties now get programming from Albuquerque, N.M. Some residents complain that shuts them out of Colorado-related advertising and political coverage and Denver Broncos games.

The Federal Communications Commission delegates the power to set TV market areas to Nielsen Media Research. Nielsen placed the two counties in the Albuquerque market.

Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet and Rep. Michael Salazar, all Democrats, introduced legislation Wednesday to change the rules.

The counties are about 175 miles from Albuquerque and about 230 miles from Denver.
