TORONTO — Freddie Ljungberg scored his first MLS goal, and Kasey Keller recorded his third consecutive shutout Saturday as Seattle remained perfect.
Steve Zakuani also scored for Seattle (3-0-0), which has yet to allow a goal through the first three games of its debut season. It was the first loss of the season for Toronto (1-1-1).
Seattle, which opened the year with home victories over New York and Real Salt Lake, had expected a tougher test in its first road game. Toronto, however, did little to impress the sellout crowd of 20,658.
D.C. United 1, Dynamo 0
WASHINGTON — Luciano Emilio scored his second goal of the season early in the second half to give D.C. United its first win.
United (1-0-2) had struggled in the second half of its first two games, getting outscored 3-1 in its two ties.
Emilio bucked that trend with his second goal in as many games. He caught up with a ball lobbed into the box by Bryan Namoff, then chipped a shot over goalkeeper Pat Onstad into the top left corner of the goal in the 47th minute.
The win was United’s first in two years over the Dynamo (0-2-1), which put all its shots on goal in the second half. United goalkeeper Louis Crayton made four saves in his first shutout of the season.
Revolution 2, FC Dallas 1
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Veteran midfielder Steve Ralston came on to start the second half and scored on a penalty kick in the 80th minute for New England.
It was Ralston’s 70th MLS goal.
Sainey Nyassi scored for the Revolution (2-0-1) in the second half, while Kenny Cooper scored in the first half for FC Dallas (0-3-0).
