An Olathe man accused of driving drunk in an accident that killed his son made his first court appearance Monday.
Juan Jose Prieto-Gonzalez, 32, was driving a 1989 Camaro when he ran a stop sign Sunday on County Road 5400 at Colorado 348 between Olathe and Delta, the Colorado State Patrol said. The Camaro drove in front of a 1996 GMC Suburban, which rammed the Camaro.
The Montrose County coroner said 7-year-old Jose Juan Prieto, who was in the Camaro with his father, died instantly.
