DENVER—A grand jury has indicted a man on 25 counts of stealing the identities of nearly two dozen Coloradans, forging checks in their names and making away with more than $24,000 during a six-month crime spree.
Attorney General John Suthers said Tuesday that 45-year-old Timothy Kuskowski cashed and forged checks using stolen IDs at retail stores in 10 Colorado counties between December 2007 and June 2008.
Investigators say Avon police arrested Kuskowski in June while he was trying to pass a fraudulent check at a City Market store in Delta.
Kuskowski is being held at the Buena Vista Correctional Facility.
