Scott Mitchell is living large Monday. He’s on the South Lawn of the White House for the annual Easter Egg Roll.

Mitchell is president of the Monroe Group (a Denver-based holding company) and vice chairman of the Colorado Black Chamber. But today, he’s the egg-man with his kids, Taylor, 13, and Steven, 11, and wife, Deb.

“We’re all very excited,” Mitchell said.

And who wouldn’t be egg-cited? President Barack and first lady Michelle Obama should be there, the Easter Bunny will definitely be there, along with storytelling and egg rolling.

How did he score these tix? Through Denver attorney Willie Shepherd — a key fundraiser for the DNC host committee and an Obama insider.

Sweet smokes.

Is the recent tobacco tax spike making you rethink your cigarette habit? Now’s the time to switch — to Round Up candy cigarettes.

They’re only 99-cents-a-pack at the just-opened Lola’s Sugar Rush on Main Street in downtown Littleton. And no secondhand smoke! Sure, your teeth might get diabetes, but you won’t be coughing as much.

Owner Lola Salazar said that, at first, she hid the sugar smokes in the back. “But everyone who walks in asks for candy cigarettes. They’re just 99 cents, and the memories are priceless.”

She sells more than 600 types of candy at the Sugar Rush, along with cupcakes and coffee. And she has a steady stream of customers. “No matter how bad the economy is, everybody deserves a sweetie,” she says.

South Park Saddam.

Colorado’s favorite sons, “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, have a signed photo of Saddam Hussein. Stone says: “We’re very proud of our signed Saddam picture and what it means. It’s one of our biggest highlights.”

The London Telegraph reports that the pic was given to the boys by the U.S. Army’s 4th Infantry Division. Seems while Hussein was in custody, Marines repeatedly made him watch the movie “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut” — which depicts him as, among other things, a friend of Satan. Hussein is often depicted that way on the TV series.

Stone got a kick out of it. “That’s really adding insult to injury,” he said.
