As the Southwest Division champions of the NBA Development League, the Colorado 14ers (34-16) have chosen the Erie BayHawks (27-23) as their opponent in the first round of the playoffs.
The league’s three division champions, as well as the wild-card team with the best regular-season record, were given the opportunity to select their first-round opponents from the four lowest-seeded playoff teams.
The 14ers finished the regular season with the league’s best record, earning the top seed. The BayHawks finished with the seventh seed.
The first and second rounds of the playoffs will be single elimination, and the championship series will have a best-of-three format.
The 14ers play Erie on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Broomfield Event Center.
