Denver’s school board Thursday approved the creation of an early-childhood learning center in central Denver in the facility now occupied by Knight Fundamental Academy.
The center is the first of its kind in Denver and will be a tuition-based school serving 4- and 5-year-olds.
It will open in August as a collaborative effort among four southeast Denver elementary schools: Cory, Asbury, Steele and Slavens.
The facility at 3245 E. Exposition Ave. will be vacated by the Knight Fundamental Academy Program, which is moving to a previously closed school building that housed Hallett Elementary.
