LITTLETON, Colo.—Health officials say a produce handler at a Littleton Albertsons store has tested positive for hepatitis A, raising the possibility that some customers may have been exposed to the contagious disease.

The Tri-County Health Department Sunday said the worker handled green onions, celery, unbagged lettuce, cut watermelon, cantaloupe or honeydew melon, and fresh watermelon packed in plastic containers. Health officials say consumers who ate those products between April 6 and April 19 face a low-risk of exposure, but should get vaccinated as a precaution.

Dr. Richard Vogt, executive director of the health department covering Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas counties, says they learned of the illness through routine reporting.
