LOVELAND, Colo.—Loveland-based Advanced Manufacturing Technology has laid off 40 of its 100 employees because of slumping sales of its plastic bottle manufacturing equipment.
Company president Thomas Ingraham says the layoffs were made across all departments, from administration and engineering to sales and manufacturing.
Advanced Manufacturing Technology was founded in Fort Collins in 1996 and moved to Loveland in 2003. It makes high-speed air conveyance systems used in the production of plastic bottles, and supplies beverage companies like Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Gatorade.
Ingraham says demand for the air conveyance systems has declined, resulting in few projects with too many vendors for the market. He says some of these vendors have resorted to taking jobs below cost.
