If there’s something you want to find — anything —there’s a good chance you’ll spot it in a certain 15-block stretch of South Broadway.
A cake pan in the shape of a train engine? Check. A parrot? In all colors and price ranges. Malted grains for your home-brewing adventures? Duh. A Burmese python? Now you’re being silly.
Just kidding. You can find that in Englewood, too, and five other kinds of python. Heck, there are even antique bamboo fishing rods alongside Elvis memorabilia at a spot called Antique Fishing (4068 S. Broadway). And at the Doll Shop (4361 S. Broadway), there are so many sets of lifelike eyes that you feel like you’re on stage. They’re not quite like any other places you’ve been, and come to think of it, that’s as good a description as any for this whole stretch of urban wonders.
