OMAHA, Neb.—Two Nebraska high schools have announced the hirings of new football coaches.
Justin Smith takes over at Lincoln Northeast, replacing Dave Svehla. Smith has been coach at Wakefield the past seven years, winning Class C2 championships in 2006 and 2007.
Dave Colling will lead the program at Kearney Catholic, where he has been an assistant coach the past three years. Colling had been Kearney Catholic’s head coach from 1993-93. He takes over for Bernie Madison, who is the new head coach at North Platte.
