
Former Columbine pitcher Evan Anundsen, now a 20-year-old Brewers prospect, hurled a nine-inning no-hitter Tuesday to lead the visiting Brevard County Manatees to a 1-0 victory over the Daytona Cubs in the Florida State League.
It was the second no-hitter in the minor leagues this season but the first in which one pitcher lasted all nine innings.
Anundsen struck out 10.

Colorado finished ninth with a 4-3 record — 5-3 counting an exhibition win against New York Red — in the Brute Scholastic Showcase, a national dual wrestling tournament for underclassmen in York, Pa.
Nathaniel Garcia of Greeley West was 8-0 in 140-pound matches. Matthew Gurule of Central (G.J.) was 7-1 at 103. Five locals went 6-2.
Evans Scholars.
Eleven Coloradans have been awarded the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship, a full tuition and housing college scholarship, for 2009-10. They were selected based on four criteria: a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need and outstanding character.
They will attend the University of Colorado in Boulder, where they will live in the Evans Scholarship House. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

Grandview outfielder Kevin Gausman has been named a first- team selection on the Perfect Game USA Preseason Underclassmen All-American Baseball Team, joining a field of 60 players nationally.
