COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Federal authorities say a Colorado fugitive has been arrested in Arizona on suspicion of defrauding banks and investors of nearly $3.5 million.
Authorities said 54-year-old Stephan John Meylan of Colorado Springs was arrested last week in Tucson, Ariz. He faces charges of securities fraud, theft and forgery involving loans.
Meylan’s wife reported him missing on Sept. 29 and authorities issued an arrest warrant on April 10.
No home phone listing could be found for Meylan. Colorado Springs-based Colorado Flatwork, a cement company that lists Meylan as its president, says it can’t comment.
It’s not clear whether he has an attorney.
