BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder County commissioners will consider amending building codes to make it easier for people to power their homes with solar panels and wind turbines.
One of the changes would allow solar panels to be installed in vacant lots so residents could put them in any land they own.
Boulder passed a law last year requiring residents who build big houses to invest in renewable energy but the old building codes sometimes make it difficult for people who want to install solar panels or wind turbines.
The commissioners will decide Thursday whether to make the changes.
