Vail Resorts Inc. said Thursday that it terminated five senior managers at its Colorado Mountain Express resort ground transportation business, which it acquired in November.
The terminations, which include Colorado Mountain Express president Jay Ufer, were prompted in part by the existence of ongoing bonus, severance and contingent payment arrangements totaling $4 million for the five employees.
The arrangements were made with the former owner of Colorado Mountain Express and were not disclosed as required by the documents governing the acquisition, Vail said in a statement.
The company announced that John Dawsey, area director of sales and marketing for RockResorts’ Vail collection, has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Colorado Mountain Express.
