The body of a man found on an Aurora street was identified today by authorities, and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Miguel Angel Chavez, 24, was found at about 4 a.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of South Ouray Street by officers responding to a report of a “man down,” Aurora police said in a media release.

Chavez suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and also was probably run over by a car, police said. Officials have not yet determined which occurred first.

Investigators do not have leads on a suspect and did not release a possible motive in the shooting.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at 303 739-6090.
