DENVER—Denver police say they are investigating the discovery of the body of a missing college student as a “suspicious death” until the coroner’s office releases more information in the case.

Det. Sharon Avendano says police were called Saturday to an apartment in the 1300 block of Washington Street on a “suspicious incident” report. Officers found the body of 19-year-old Matthew Daniel Josey when they arrived.

Josey had not been seen or heard from since May 11 when he left the campus of Front Range Community College in Longmont. He also attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Josey was a graduate of Niwot High School.

The Denver coroner’s office said Monday an autopsy had been completed but that the cause and manner of death were pending.
