ST. LOUIS—A roadside bomb in Afghanistan has killed an Air Force Academy graduate and officer from St. Louis.

The Pentagon said Thursday that 1st Lt. Roslyn Schulte died Wednesday in the bombing just outside Kabul.

The Air Force Academy says Schulte is the 10th academy graduate and first female graduate to be killed in action, supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Schulte graduated from John Burroughs High School in 2002 and was a 2006 honors graduate of the Air Force Academy. Schulte’s father said she had been stationed in Kabul for about three months, working with local military officials in an intelligence capacity.

Schulte was assigned to the Pacific Air Forces Command at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
