A search will continue in the morning to recover the body of a man presumed to have drowned in Horse Creek Reservoir in Adams County Sunday afternoon.
Authorities are not yet releasing the name of the 45-year-old man until he is recovered and an autopsy confirms his identity, said Sgt. Candi Baker, a spokeswoman for the Adams County Sheriff’s Department.
Divers and sonar combed the 700-acre private reservoir after the man was reported overboard and missing at about 12:40 p.m.
The man was fishing with an adult family member when he jumped overboard from the fishing boat to recover a fishing rod that fell in the water.
“He was unable to make it back to the boat,” Baker said.
