LUCERNE, Colo.—Two men who were injured by lightning while skeet shooting in northern Colorado have been identified as Josh Renuch of Loveland and Brent Kuehne of Greeley.
The men, both 32, were struck Monday about two miles east of Lucerne and 65 miles north of Denver.
Weld County Undersheriff Margie Martinez says the lightning may have hit a shotgun in Renuch’s hands because it exploded.
Renuch and Kuehne were taken to the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Hospital officials say they can’t discuss the men’s condition because of privacy laws.
