BRIGHTON, Colo.—A man is missing and feared dead after jumping from a boat to retrieve a fishing rod from a reservoir about 10 miles east of Brighton.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Department said the 45-year-old man was reported overboard in Horse Creek Reservoir at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday.
His name hasn’t been released.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Candi Baker says the man was fishing with an adult family member when he jumped in the water.
Divers and searchers with sonar couldn’t find the man Sunday.
The privately owned, 700-acre reservoir is about 25 miles northeast of Denver.
