A man suspected of breaking into at least seven cars and a garage was apprehended at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in Littleton.
Callers reported spotting a man breaking into cars in the 1400 block of South Sterne Parkway. When officers arrived, they saw Richard Trujillo, 18, sitting inside a victim’s car.
After a short foot chase, Trujillo was caught.
A vehicle belonging to Trujillo, who lives in the 700 block of South Shoshone Street in Denver, was found nearby. A search of the car led to property believed taken in at least six other vehicle break-ins and a garage burglary, said investigators.
Trujillo is being held in Arapahoe County Jail for investigation of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass.
