DENVER—Denver police say they won’t pursue criminal charges against a woman accused in a fatal car crash at a Burger King parking lot pending further investigation.

Denver police had said 23-year-old Dawn Marie Gonzales of Aurora faced murder charges after the accident early Friday that killed 49-year-old Lilian Verdonkschot outside a Burger King south of downtown Denver.

Police detectives accused Gonzales of deliberately hitting Verdonkschot.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said Monday the investigation is continuing.
