George Lopez may be the biggest comedy name in Denver this weekend, but he’s not the only one. Besides Lopez’s Ellie Caulkins Opera House sets tonight and Saturday ($40-$60), Christian Finnegan stops by the Walnut Room tonight ($20). Impressionist Pablo Francisco also plays the Improv today-Sunday ($22), with Shane Mauss ($12-$20) at Comedy Works South and Jo Koy ($14-$22) at the downtown club, both today-Sunday.
Denver Does Denver bills itself as an orgy of local music, which makes sense when you consider you can see the 21 acts — including notables Pictureplane, Ian Cooke, Mike Marchant, Married in Berdichev and Doo Crowder — covering each other at two separate venues for only $10. Saturday at Carioca Cafe (a.k.a. Bar Bar) and Old Curtis
Loretta Lynn’s concert at the Paramount on Wednesday will provide a rare window into one of our most valuable, still-glowing musical treasures. Stop by to hear some of the tunes that have made her synonymous with classic country tales. TicketHorse. $34.50-$74.50.
