The race to replace Colorado House Speaker Terrance Carroll has already started as a second Democratic candidate for House District 7 announces her candidacy today, touting the outgoing speaker’s blessing.
Carroll faces term limits in the House in 2010, and he’s endorsed Denverite Angela Williams as his successor. But Stapleton resident Mark Mehringer, who announced in April, already has a slight advantage.
He’s raised more than $10,000 for the race, according to campaign filings. Jessica Fender, The Denver Post
