CU to host golf regional.

CSU getting Big Ten transfer.

Minnesota’s Travis Busch, a 6-foot-4 forward who achieved instant YouTube fame with a length-of- the-court inbounds pass during the Big Ten basketball tournament in 2008, will transfer to Colorado State for his final season of eligibility.

Busch recently graduated from Minnesota and received an NCAA waiver to play immediately as a graduate student. Busch, the 2005 Gatorade high school player of the year in Minnesota, attended Cal Poly before transfering to Minnesota as a walk-on.

He earned a scholarship with the Gophers and academic all-Big Ten honors with limited playing time.

“He’s tough, aggressive, has great quickness and a great personality too,” CSU coach Tim Miles said. “He is a relentless basketball player.”

Busch averaged 2.6 points and 1.2 rebounds last season. In the Big Ten’s 2008 tournament, he inbounded the ball from under the net to the opposite foul line with 1.5 seconds left. Blake Hoffarber came down with the ball and hit a shot to beat Indiana.

Former Avalanche coach Tony Granato will serve as a camp evaluator for U.S. head coach Dean Blais.
