Getting your player ready...

Whether it’s mountain biking, motocross or rafting, the outdoor fashion accessory of the season has to be the helmet-cam. And with a new line of five-megapixel sports cameras with the industry’s first 170-degree wide-angle lens, California-based GoPro has a model for almost every action-packed occasion.

GoPro’s Helmet Hero Wide (MSRP: $190) weighs only 4.7 ounces and is capable of capturing up to 56 minutes of continuous video. Or set it to the “photo every 2 seconds” mode to capture 5-meg images continually for 64 minutes (nearly 2,000 hands-free photos). But the best feature is the wide-angle lens with an expanded field of view capable of picking up peripheral action with minimal distortion.

An array of mounting options and a reliable shockproof-waterproof housing allow videographers and photographers to attach the camera to the bow of a kayak, raft, surfboard or almost any other outdoor environment without fear.
