CARIBOU, Maine — Police say an investigation that started in Great Britain has led to the arrest of a Maine woman who is accused of abusing a child and transmitting the images online.
Thirty-year-old Julie Carr was charged Monday with gross sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor. She’s being held in the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
The Mars Hill resident was arrested Friday after a tip from police in Britain’s West Midlands about a video that had been streamed online showing a woman performing sex acts on a child.
Her four children have been placed in protective custody.
