The University of Wyoming’s Nikki Steffes won the first round of goat tying with a time of 6.3 seconds at the College National Finals Rodeo at the Casper Events Center in Casper on Monday.
The former women’s all-around champion also is seventh in breakaway roping through two rounds.
Wyoming’s Sarah Mulholland tied for seventh in goat tying with a time of 7.0.
O.J. Huxtable of Casper College and Riley Warren of Central Wyoming College finished third in team roping with a time of 6.4 seconds.
