Xcel Energy said it wants to recover $54.8 million in costs associated with anticipated higher fuel and energy prices for the third quarter of 2009.
The company on Monday filed its electric-commodity adjustment with the state Public Utilities Commission. Changes would go into effect July 1 if approved.
Typical residential customers using 625 kilowatt hours a month would see an increase of $4.56 a month to $63.05. Typical small-business customers using 1,025 kilowatt hours a month would see bills increase by $7.48 a month to $101.83.
