LAS VEGAS—Police say a fugitive in the 1995 disappearance of his estranged wife in Greeley, Colo., has been arrested on a murder warrant in Las Vegas.
Police Sgt. Dave Stansbury said 44-year-old John L. Sandoval was arrested Thursday outside his home on a warrant issued in Colorado’s Weld County.
Stansbury says Kristina Sandoval was 23 when she was reported missing in October 1995. Her body has never been found.
He says authorities in Greeley think Sandoval killed his wife and buried the body. They obtained an arrest warrant after recent re-interviews with witnesses.
Stansbury says Sandoval has been living in Las Vegas for about 10 years, and was working at a retail store.
Police say he’ll be held at the Clark County jail pending extradition to Colorado.
