Fortune Valley Hotel & Casino had Denver’s 16th Street Mall all shook up Friday during the lunch hour with craps tables and a job fair for Elvis impersonators.

The casino set up two craps tables in front of the Hard Rock Cafe, where croupiers taught people how to play the dice-based game of chance — no real betting allowed! — in advance of changes to the state’s gaming laws. The new law, which allows 24-hour gaming, roulette and craps and raises the wagering limit to $100 in the gaming towns of Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek, takes effect July 2.

The Central City casino also was auditioning the hip jiggles, lip curls and voices of Elvis look-alikes who might represent the casino at events. The Denver Post
