RIFLE, Colo.—ExxonMobil has finished a new natural gas processing plant in western Colorado’s Piceance (PEA’-yonce) Basin than can handle up to 200 million cubic feet of gas a day.

ExxonMobil Production Co. said this week the plant northwest of Rifle can process both gas and liquid.

The company remains active in the Piceance Basin despite a general downturn in the industry. It has seven drilling rigs in the basin, where it says it has leases on lands with up to 45 trillion cubic feet of gas.
