Frontier Airlines will end all service to Grand Junction Regional Airport on Sept. 14. Frontier’s subsidiary, Lynx Aviation, has three daily flights from Denver to Grand Junction.
Service between the two cities began in May 2008. While passenger traffic increased, it “has not been good enough to justify continued service,” according to a Grand Junction airport news release issued today.
Grand Junction also has seven daily United Express flights from Denver. “Grand Junction is not losing service direct to a hub,” said Grand Junction aviation director Rex Tippetts. “What is important now is that we strive to maintain the service we still have, and look for new oportunities for air service to Grand Junction.”
