A man found dead after neighbors reported a shooting early Sunday died of a gunshot to the chest, according to the Denver coroner’s office.
Police found Morrail Bell, 33, and a second man who was also shot, outside 12565 Albrook Drive in Montbello.
Carmen Swindall, Bell’s ex-girlfriend, said a witness saw an unmarked police car run him over as he lay in the parking lot after being shot in a gun fight with the other man. But the coroner’s office said today that the autopsy shows no injuries indicating a car hit him — only a gunshot wound.
“This office saw no evidence or injuries that are consistent with being run over or struck by a vehicle,” Michelle Weiss-Samaras, Denver’s chief deputy coroner.
