Breckenridge is sharing the secrets of Breckenride during the town’s inaugural Breck Bike Week, kicking off with Saturday’s Firecracker 50 off-road race and parade and wrapping up with the Breck Epic stage race, Monday through July 10.
Understanding that cycling is a participatory sport, visitors are treated to several cycle-centric activities beyond those big-time races (also open to the public). Group rides of varying lengths will be offered throughout the week, along with industry demos, free bike fitting, a “Meet the Pros and Mountain Bike Legends” event, two bike-in movie nights and live Tour de France viewing on the big screen in the Blue River Plaza every morning at 7:30 a.m. Guides will lead shorter interpretive bike tours and maps to Breck’s big loops (20 to 30 miles) will be handed out daily by the Bike Week concierge at the plaza. All events are free. Just be sure to bring a bike.
