After nearly eight years on the 16th Street Mall, ESPN Zone shut down today, putting more than 100 employees out of work.
Company representatives met with employees to tell them of the restaurant’s closure and give them information about their 60-day severance packages.
“A decision like this is never easy,” ESPN senior vice president Rick Alessandri said. “We recognize and appreciate the commitment and years of service of all of these employees. Unfortunately, the current economic environment offered us no other choice.”
