RADIUM, Colo.—The body of a suburban Denver school official who drowned in the Colorado River nearly two weeks ago has been recovered.

Forty-two-year-old Eric Kophs, the director of elementary education for the Cherry Creek School District, fell off a raft June 20 while on a fishing trip with a friend.

The Grand County Sheriff’s Department says Koph’s body was found Wednesday on an island that had been submerged until a few days ago.

His wife, Tiffany, is the assistant principal at Horizon Middle School in Aurora.

A memorial is planned for Friday at Our Lady of Loreto in Aurora.
